The Friendship City Program is a sister city relationship between the cities of Yahaba, Japan and Fremont, Michigan. Links between the two are maintained through ongoing exchanges in areas of interest such as art, agriculture, business, culture, education, and athletics.

What is Global Thinking?
In what manner can we make our children realize the seriousness of their future as global citizens with responsibilities tied with living in a global community? The answer for Fremont Public Schools with a student population of 2,500 and a city population of under 5,000 and surrounding district of close to 13,000 is placing their students, teachers, administrators, and community people in the roles of diplomats and cultural ambassadors in partnership with Yahaba, Japan.
